🌍 About the Role:
Prime Placers is working with a leading international freight forwarder seeking an experienced Import Customer Manager to oversee high-value client relationships and end-to-end import operations.
This is a key account-facing role, ideal for a confident logistics professional who can manage import processes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure first-class service delivery across air, sea, and road consignments.
📌 Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for key import clients, building strong long-term relationships
- Oversee import bookings, customs clearance, and shipment tracking from origin to delivery
- Coordinate with carriers, agents, customs brokers, and warehouse teams
- Resolve escalations and proactively manage service expectations
- Review and optimise client account performance and SOPs
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and international trade rules
- Mentor junior staff or support the operations team when needed
✅ Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in import freight forwarding or logistics (air, sea or road)
- Strong client service and account management background
- Sound understanding of import processes, incoterms, and customs compliance
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with systems like CargoWise, ASM Sequoia, or similar (preferred)
- Calm under pressure and focused on solutions
